I'm a Sherlock fangirl (in fact I'm a all around fangirl for just about everything I watch/read), an obsessive reader, a writer, and generally a bit geeky.

I'm pretty chilled out (not into fandom wank) so if you follow me you'll mainly be seeing cute, funny, or epic stuff that I wanted to share. :D

Because I can’t call her ‘the scavenger’ forever. Any ideas would be appreciated - normally the character immediately tells me the name but this one is tricky.

  • She was a slave in an alternate world and was offered for sacrifice. She escaped and learned how to travel in other worlds. She was possibly of a Romany-like descent before being a slave.
  • She’s at least seven hundred years old but has access to technology to extend her life (this runs out at the start of the book).
  • She has an abandoned planet all of her own which is a camp for travellers. In exchange for shelter she sets up contracts with them for services.
  • She is VERY rational and yet ruthless. She will uphold her contracts to the letter but if the contract screws you over it’s not her problem.
  • It’s theorised that she’s the ruler of several empires and that this camp on a deserted world in merely a palace for her to live in.
  • She doesn’t really understand people  - she thinks they should follow rules and patterns (to the point that she uses Pavlovian training to control people). As much as she’s the bad guy the story is about her using her remaining time to embrace the normal feelings she was denied.

So ideas? I don’t want her to have a fancy ‘Lady Marbella Carlotta Lou-Belle Ginsing’ type name or an ambiguous one like ‘The Lady’. I want it to be an old name but one that could work for an all-powerful ruler.
